Pedro Bukata

1942 - 2025

Dr. Pedro Alejandro Bukata, born Peter Alexander Bukata in Krakow, Poland on August 2,1942, passed away on September 15, 2025.

Pedro immigrated to Argentina as a young boy of 6 in 1948. It was in 1968 that he met his loving wife of almost 56 years. They were married in Buenos Aires in 1969. He moved to the United States with his son and pregnant wife in 1972. Pedro became a beloved obstetrician/gynecologist in Munster, Indiana, where he and his wife raised their children. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jaroslaw Tomas and Elizabeth (nee Fritz) Bukata. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Marta Camafreyta Bukata; his son Pablo (Christine) Bukata; his daughter Laura (Humberto, Jr.) Vallejo; and his six grandchildren: Michael, Timothy, and Kristin Bukata, and Catalina, Camila, and Cecilia Vallejo.

He was a proud, yet humble man. He was a man of few words and loved his family fiercely. He enjoyed working on electronics and his circuits and became very involved in computers and creating his biography. Additionally, no family function was complete without him taking pictures and videos to document the occasion in the proper way. He was always the man behind the camera. Words cannot capture his quirky spirit, but he was definitely loved greatly by his family and friends.
