Peter Eklund Obituary

PETER EKLUND MERRILLVILLE, IN
Peter Eklund, age 79, of Merrillville, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Irene Haslett-Eklund; two daughters: Pamela (David Jones) Eklund of Gurnee, IL and Lynda (David) Washington of Edmond, OK; extended family; five grandchildren; and extended grandchildren. Peter was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired employee of the E.J.&E. Railroad and a 52 year friend of Bill W. In retirement, Peter was a prolific member of the Lake County Parks Photography Club, contributed to the Post Tribune as a reader columnist, and volunteered his time with residents of the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center. Peter's final article will be published in the January issue of AA Grapevine. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 12:00 noon until time of the memorial service at 2:00 PM at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave./ E.
