Phillip Weis Obituary

PHILLIP ERIC WEIS HIGHLAND, IN Phillip Eric Weis, age 32, of Highland, passed away suddenly Monday, July 25, 2011. Phillip was an outgoing and loving individual who touched everyone he met with his love and zest for life. He loved people and worked in retail from his teenage years. In the early spring of 2008 with his partner, Dave Benante, Phillip founded Highland Pack and Parcel, a retail service business. He loved his work, but most of all, he loved the people. Phillip was committed to the community and served as volunteer in local organizations including the Highland Chamber of Commerce and the Calumet Humane Society. He was also active in his professional organizations of AMPC (American Mail & Pack Centers) and RSA (Retail Shipping Associates) working in training, seminars, and as an instructor. True to his nature even in death, Phillip continued to give because he had registered as an organ donor. He will be greatly missed by his family of choice which includes his partner, David Benante; close friend, Chuck Pease; along with other members of the Benante, Pease and Ellis families. He is also survived by his half brothers: Jim and Larry; and half sister, Tammy. Preceded in death by his beloved mother, Bonnie Jean Weis-Beiderhake; and half brother, Chet. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 2828 Highway Ave., Highland with Rev. Robert VadeBonCoeur officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be private. www.fagenmiller.com

Phil I miss you and had an instant connection with you when I first came in the store. I loved your high energy and get whatever needed done attitude. I felt so sorry when you had the shoulder operation and I sent the bambo plant which I hope Dave planted. Bridget went in today 1/28/12 and we were both shocked I cried......... I miss you. Although you are having fun in Heaven and helping to run the store as you can I will continue to pray for you and Dave.

Phillip was my daughter's uncle and we were so shocked to find out today that he is gone. He was a sweet and very down to earth guy. He will be missed.

Just recently I had the pleasure of meeting Phil - July 21st to be exact!!
He left a life changing impression on me! He was so cheerful and friendly - I left the store with a smile on my face and hope in my heart!! During our visit to his store he had us dancing and telling jokes!! What a wonderful person! :)

Well my friend your were always busy making sure everyone had what they needed even when it was a last minute request. i was blow away when I heard the news and could not believe what my ears were hearing. While we miss you here, the lord is welcoming you to the place that Jesus went ahead to prepare. May God's light shine upon all of your family and friends during this time.

It is still hard to wrap my head around Phil's passing. It must be true God only takes the best. I am glad he was an organ donor and would encourage everyone to follow in his footsteps in his memory.
