Phyllis Gruver Obituary

PHYLLIS GRUVER (NEE LUNDIE) LANSING, IL Phyllis Gruver (nee Lundie), age 75, of Lansing, IL, formerly of Dolton, IL, passed away December 1, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, David; three children: Gavin (Bonnie) Gruver, Jann (Robert) Tufo, and Jennifer (Joel) Difiore; 11 grandchildren: David, Tyler, Joel Paul, Gabrielle, Isabella, Jordan, Julia, Jaclyn, Ian, Reece, and Ray; one great-grandchild, Mia; two brothers: Cloyse and Phillip; and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Born November 22, in Owosso, MI, she attended Houghton College in New York State and received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Northwestern University in Chicago. She worked 45 years in the nursing field, the last 15 was dedicated to Hospice care. Phyllis will always be remembered for her generosity and compassion, not only to people but animals as well. A memorial service to celebrate Phyllis' life will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Rosemoor Funeral Home, 17943 Torrence, Ave., Lansing, IL from 1:00-3:00 PM. Services at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer, Diabetes, or Humane Societies, and the Phyllis Lundie Gruver Scholarship fund c/o Shiawassee Community Foundation, PO Box 753, Owosso, MI 48867.
