Ramon Torres Obituary
Ramon "Papo" Torres was born in Chicago, IL on July 8, 1957 to the late Luis and Ramona Torres. Ramon was employed at US Steel Corporation Field Electric/ USW Local 1066 for 20 years as a MTE and owner of Merit Electric. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding and tinkering with his Harley. He said when he rode he loved looking at God's creation. He was also passionate about his grandchildren and supported their sports activities. He was baptized at Believer's Fellowship Church. Ramon is preceded in death by his parents Luis and Ramona Torres, sister Dharma Gonzalez, and great niece Savannah Taylor. Ramon departed this life to be with his Lord on May 1, 2017. His memories will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife; Katherine Torres, daughter; Simone (Keon) Thompson; his beautiful grandchildren: Kiarra and Keon Jr.; siblings: Jose (Ivette) Vazquez, Maria Santiago, Luz Torres, and Evelyn Torres; nephew that was more like a son Raymond Taylor Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Special friends Norman Kelly, Rodney Graves, Raymond Taylor Sr., and Keith Dean. He will truly be missed by many. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 8, 2017 at noon, located at Schererville Community Center, 500 E. Joliet Street Schererville, IN 46375.

Pops is one of the Best Friend's I've ever had!!!! I loved getting calls like say Ray wanna ride the Bikes today that Harley looked good to at night with the blue lights....... I will miss all the rides breaking together.... To the family remember Pops Loved God and everyoneof you... I will continue to pray for comfort for you all, and if you EVER NEED ANYTHING FROM ME IM THERE...... God Bless you, and I love you all....

Raymond, I know how special he was to you and your family. Hold on to all of the treasured memories you have of him. Sorry for ur loss to the Torres family. We've been knowing Papo our whole life. He was always nice to us when I was growing up. I remember him as a good husband, good father, good brother, good uncle and good neighbor. We the Browns are going to miss you!

My buddy, my pal, my best friend, and my twin, you left me here alone to fend to the end. My heart is so heavy now that you're not around, yet I still hear your voice without you making a sound. Speak on my friend, we hear you loud and clear, your message, your life, and your love will forever be dear.
