Renee Tomerlin Obituary
Renee Lynn Tomerlin, 42 of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016. She was born June 3, 1974 in Valparaiso to Philip O. and Karen D. (Reder) Tomerlin. Renee is survived by her parents of Michigan City, her brothers Craig (Rebecca) Tomerlin and Keith Tomerlin; her nephew Oscar Tomerlin, her uncles: Ed (Marsha) Tomerlin, Mike (Sheryl) Tomerlin, George (Peggy) Hudak, Terry (Rita) Reder, Paul (Jan) Gosser; her aunts Marge and Avonne Tomerlin and numerous cousins and friends. Preceding her in death are her paternal grandparents Oscar and Gertrude Tomerlin and maternal grandparents Jack Reder and VirginiaReder (Ferry); as well as other aunts and uncles. Renee was a manager at a group home for autistic adults. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. in Valparaiso. Pastor Michael Eddy officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer. bartholomewnewhard.com

Iam so shocked and sorry to hear this. Iam Brian Mackey sister (Mac) Brian lived at the group home for many years.
Renee was so nice and friendly and always welcomed us! She sure loved the guys at the group home. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

I met Renee through Shawana. They were both members of the Women of the Moose. She was always happy, pleasant and just fun to be around. She will be missed by many. So sorry for your loss.

Renee is already so sorely missed. She took such good care of her guys in the group home and they loved her right back. She had a wicked sense of humor and was an inspiration to so many of us. Rest now, sweet girl.
