Rex Harper Obituary

REX I. HARPER GARY, IN Rex I. Harper, age 81, of Gary, passed away on Thursday may 1, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maudie; children: Nancy (Alan) Brazaitis, Rex (Sherry) Harper Jr., Kevin (Betty) Harper, Sam (Kim) Harper, Gilbert (Polly) Harper, Doug (Fiance'e Barb) Harper, Roxanna (Annette) Harper, and JoAnna (Stephen) Hilliker; 30 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, seven sisters, and by his three brothers. Rex was preceded in death by his parents: James and Dovie Harper; son, Richie; great granddaughter, Rachel; two sisters; and by his brother. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at White Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Moffitt officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary. Friends may meet with the family on Monday May 5th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave. in Griffith. Rex was a Korean War Navy Veteran and member of Griffith American Legion Post 66. He was retired from Inland Steel and he was a member of First Baptist Church in Hammond. I work with Nancy...I am so sorry for the loss of your husband, you have had many wonderful years. So sorry for the loss of your dad..so many children, and the loss of your gram-pa, great-gram-pa and brother.
