Robert L. "Bob" Dockery Sr.

ROBERT L. DOCKERY, SR. SCHERERVILLE, IN Robert L. "Bob" Dockery Sr., 67, of Schererville, passed away at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at William J. Riley Memorial Residence in Munster. He was born on November 18, 1946 in Warsaw to the late Leland B. and Agnes L. (Eick) Dockery and was a graduate of Boone Grove High School. Mr. Dockery was an honorably discharged United States Army veteran serving as a E-5 Training officer upon his discharge in August of 1967. Bob worked for Planet Honda as a finance director for many years where he made many lifelong friends who he loved and considered family. He had a huge heart and was always happy, quick witted and positive. He spent countless hours after work with his friends and their kids and every Sunday watching the Chicago Bears football games. Surviving are two children: Michelle Simpson (Michael) of Pflugerville, TX and Robert L. "Bob" Dockery Jr. (Christin) of Scottsdale, AZ. Bob loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren: Jessica Rodenkirsch (Tyler), Jacob, Jacqueline and Julianna Barlow, and Mason and Landon Dockery; and a special great granddaughter, Addison. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Bartholomew Funeral Home from 3:00 - 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valparaiso, at 12:00 PM, with a visitation one hour prior to service.
