Robert McBrayer Obituary

Robert "Bob" Waid Mc Brayer Hessville Robert Waid Mc Brayer, age 79, of Hessville passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond. He is survived by three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Barbara Litherland of Valparaiso, three brothers: William (Connie) Mc Brayer of Griffith, John (Peggy) Mc Brayer of Hobart and George (Susie) Mc Brayer of Crown Point; one sister-in-law, Naomi Gardner of Calumet City, IL, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Waid and Grace Mc Brayer, his wife of 43 years, Wanda, two sons, Thomas and Timothy, one brother, Howard Mc Brayer and one nephew, Howard P. Mc Brayer. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with John Snyder, Minister, officiating. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 2 until 6 p.m. Robert was a lifetime resident of Hessville and a member of Hessville Baptist Church. He was a WWII US Army veteran. He retired in 1990 from Amoco Oil before that he retired from the Budd Co. in Gary and had worked for Taylor Forge in Gary. He also worked part time for Trade Winds in Gary. Bob was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. For further information you may call Bocken Funeral Home at (219)844-1600.

I was saddened to learn of Bob's passing. We had met a few times at McBrayer-King Reunions and I always enjoyed talking with him. On behalf of the MacBrair Family Association, most sincere condolences are expressed.
