RONALD L. STEFFY HAMMOND, IN Ronald L. Steffy, age 63, of Hammond, passed away suddenly Sunday October 30, 2011. Survived by his loving wife, Peggy (nee Shirey); daughters: Salena (Richard) Fuoss, of Hammond; Stacey (Phil) Mikler, of St. John; son, Ron (Maria) Steffy Jr., of Jasper, IN; grandchildren: Michael and Mercedies Mikler; Ron III, Madeline, Anna, Samuel and Levi Steffy; brothers: Dan (Claire) Steffy of Mars, PA and Scott Steffy of Dayton, PA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron and Peggy, originally from Pennsylvania, have been Indiana residents for many years. Ron retired from Shetland Properties where he was a Project Engineer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time at his farm in Hanna, IN. Ron will be dearly missed. Cremation entrusted to Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory in Schererville, IN 219-322-7766. In honor of Ron's appreciation for nature and his love of animals, including his beloved dog Archer, his family has created a special fund at the Humane Society of Calumet Area.
