Roy F. Robinson

Roy F. Robinson Hebron/formerly Portage Roy F. Robinson, age 81, of Hebron and formerly of Portage, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2006. Roy was born on March 25,1925, in Manchester, TN, the son of Larnce and Maggie (Freeze) Robinson. The family moved to Northwest Indiana and Roy graduated from Wirt High School. Roy was married to Alice Bessie Jean Lewis on October 25,1946 in Glen Park.He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Roy was employed as an Ironworker for Local 395 and retired after 50 years of service. He was active with the American Homing Pigeon Association and loved raising horses. Roy is survived by his loving family: Son, David (Tandra) Robinson, Valparaiso; two grandchildren: Mark Robinson, Valparaiso and Kristi (Rick) Lohmeyer, Chesterton; two great-grandchildren: Maris Robinson and Harley Lohmeyer; brothers: Vernon(Ernestine) Robinson,Wheatfield, Larry Robinson, WI, Ronnie Robinson, Munster; and sister: Pauline(Bill) Lustgarten, PA, Helen(Jerry) Yudt, Portage, Melinda (Robert) Anderson, Portage, Bonnie Grochowski,Portage, Sandy (Johnny) Hovance, IL, and other loving family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; brother, Edgar Robinson; and his loving wife, Alice Robinson. Visitation for Roy Robinson will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Friday, May 19, 2006 at Engel Funeral Home, 2700 Willowcreek Road, Portage. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, 2701 Willowdale, Portage. Memorials in Roy's memory may be made to Riley's Childrens Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for children.
