I knew Roy from my youth growing up in the Aetna subdivision of Gary and from the former Resurrection Lutheran Church at 13th and Aetna St. My father, Frank Svengalis, also knew Roy well as both were members of the men's club at the church. I remember Roy as fine and caring gentleman who was a valued member of his community and church.

My sincerest condolences to his family and to his daughter Charlene with whom I attended Emerson High school.
