Ryan Michael Edwards
Dec 7, 1993 - Apr 18, 2025
Ryan Michael Edwards, age 31, of Crown Point, IN, passed away tragically on April 18, 2025.
Born and raised in Crown Point, Ryan was a graduate of Crown Point High School, Class of 2012, where he was captain on the Varsity Golf Team, participated in school theatre productions, was an avid bowler, and played the violin. He was known by all who loved him as the funniest person in the room and the most caring soul. His heart was as big as his sense of humor, he never knew a stranger, and his presence brought light and laughter wherever he went.
Ryan was employed at Dayton Freight as an Operations Supervisor since 2018 and made many great friends during his time there. He found joy in life's simple pleasures-spending time at Yogi Bear Campground in Pierceton, where he made countless memories over the years, teeing off at the golf course with his dad, close friends, and golf buddies Sam and Billy, and always working on his beloved Ford Escape, which he was proud to be driving with 437,702 miles on his odometer. Ryan also had a love of flying-he experienced several Discovery Flights and recently soared over Tehachapi, California, in a glider.
He was a devoted Indianapolis Colts fan and dedicated every fall to NFL football, driving down to Indianapolis for home games whenever he could. Whether he was in the stands or watching from home, his passion for the Colts ran deep.
More than anything, Ryan treasured his role as an uncle. He never missed a chance to show up for his nieces and nephews-cheering them on at their sporting events, chasing them around, tossing them in the air, flying them around the room, or just being the ever-present goofy uncle they adored. His loyalty and love for his family were unmatched.
Ryan is survived by his loving parents, Susan Homner Edwards and Michael (Shelly) Edwards; his sisters, Jessica (Dominic) Cribari, Kaitlyn (Alex) Fickes, and Stephanie (Damon) Edwards; his cherished nieces and nephews-Dominic, Giana, Kennedy, Jude, and Reid-who adored their "Uncle Ry-Ry" beyond measure; his close friends, including Rob Risteski; and step-siblings, Samantha and Derek.
He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lorraine and Andrew Homner and Buck and Marie Edwards, and his Aunt Diane, Uncle Terry and Aunt Carol.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A Time of Sharing will take place at 5:00 pm.
In honor of Ryan's love for the Indianapolis Colts, guests are welcome to wear Colts apparel or something Royal Blue to the service-a small tribute to the team and color he held so close to his heart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ryan's honor to Peyton Manning Children's Hospital-a cause that beautifully reflects both his love for the Colts and his deep care for children.
Ryan will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he gave so freely, the laughter he sparked in every moment, and the irreplaceable joy he brought to all who knew him.
