SCOTT ABBOTT

SCOTT ABBOTT January 27, 1964 August 15, 2016 Gregory "Scott" Abbott, the beloved son of Judy Abbott, beloved brother of Parry Abbott, Natalie (Terry) Klema, and Tricia Abbott, and uncle of Camille Burger, Elaine Klema, and Katie Klema, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016. Throughout his long illness, Scott was lovingly attended to by his brother. He was preceded in death by his father Michael Abbott. Scott had the distinct pleasure of living at home with his family for his entire life, passing away surrounded by loved ones. After attending classes at LCARC and the West Lake Cooperative, Scott attended the workshop at The Arc Northwest Indiana for over 30 years. The Arc and West Lake Cooperative staffs had an enormous positive impact on Scott's quality of life. While unable to speak or use traditional language, Scott always made his meaning known. He was able to communicate and connect with his family and all those who worked with him. Scott made deep relationships and changed the lives of those who knew him. He will be remembered for his mischievous smile, his infectious laugh and his hearty whistle. Visitation will be Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, Munster, Indiana from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Private family service to follow.
