Shirley L. Fadell, 90 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2024. She was born October 11, 1933, to the late Donald and Thelma (Spurr) Foltz. Shirley went on to graduate from Tolleston High School in Gary, IN. She was a talented quilter and wonderful cook, especially her Croatian dishes. Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren, and when they were young you could find her reading to them, cooking for them, or playing with them. Shirley will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. We find comfort in knowing that Shirley was a lifelong Christian and is at home now in Heaven.
Shirley is survived by her children: Cynthia (Edward) Hudson of Portage, Robert Fadell of Georgia, and Gregory (Cindy) Fadell of Valparaiso; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her kindred cousin, Darlene Adcox. She was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Foltz; and granddaughter, Marisa Hudson.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Shirley's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
