Sophie Marie Dartz Portage Sophie Marie Dartz, age 85, of Portage, IN, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007. She is survived by one son, Edward Charles (Dr. Carol Kopko) Dartz, Jr. of Westville, IN; one daughter, Marilyn Dartz (Michael A.) Sabocik of Chesterton, IN; sister, Joyce Basarich of San Francisco, CA; son-in-law, Raymond Freeland, Jr. of Hobart, IN, four grandchildren: Sharon (John) Wood of Terre Haute, IN, Raymond Freeland III of Hobart, IN, Aaron Dartz of Atlanta, GA and Katherine Sabocik of Chesterton, IN; four great-grandchildren: Dylan Wood, Robert Edward Dartz, Jr., Mariah Wood and Isabella Wood; niece, Nancy (Paul Jr.) Vicek of Buchanan, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Charles Dartz, Sr.; daughter, Beverly Ann Freeland; son, Ronald Edward Dartz; brother, Joseph Vetter; and grandson, Robert Edward Dartz, Sr. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Andrew J. Corona officiating at Kraft Funeral Services and Crematory, 370 N. County Line Road, Hobart, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on April 14, 2007 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. (time of service).
