STANLEY KROL VALPARAISO, IN
Stanley Krol, age 84, of Valparaiso and formerly of Gary, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the VNA Horton Hospice Center. He was born on October 2, 1927 in Glassport, PA to Vincent and Esther (Zabrowski) Krol. Stan was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and worked as a pipefitter at U.S. Steel Tube Works for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He had been a member at the Blessed Sacrament Church, American Legion Post 94 of Valparaiso, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. On July 9, 1949 in Glen Park, Stan married June Connors who survives all with their children: Stephen (Suzzanne) Krol of Lake of the Four Seasons and Debra (Rod) Draves of Valparaiso; sister, Helen Brier of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren: Kelly (Jeremy) Dodson, Stacey (Adam) Fargo, Katie (Eric) Noble, Scott Smith, Kyle Krol, and Kassy Krol; great granddaughter, Katelynn Fargo; sister-in-law, Peggy Zimmerle; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Anthony. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso. Cremation will take place at Angelcrest Crematory, Valparaiso. Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00-5:00 PM.
