Dear Laura and Jeremy:
Vickie and I are so sad and shocked to hear of Steve's passing. He was my lawyer, my confidant and my friend. I will never forget that he drove up with Laura (The only time I actually met you, although your name always came up in our meetings) when my mother-in-law passed away in 2005. Our legacy is the people we have helped and Steve has helped so many.

I am saddened to learn of Stephen’s passing. He had just assisted me with a written portrait of his late mother Vivian Brenman and for the Indiana Jewish Historical Society’s “Women of Valor” exhibit that had been displayed at the Grand Event for the Jewish Federation in Munster.

Although I have been gone from Indiana since college, I have fond memorie of Horace Mann and my classmates, including Steve. I was shocked and saddened to learn of his death. May G-d bring solice and comfort to his family.

While we were but acquaintances, Steve was a man I gladly shook hands with and respected.
Our mothers were friends, and I remember my Mom always talking about how proud Vivian was of Steve and his sister.

I have had the pleasure of working with Steve and enjoying his friendship for the last several years. He was a great resource regarding the history of alcoholic beverage law and was always generous about sharing his knowledge and experience. More importantly, he always took the time to chat about life in general. From our discussions, I know how proud he was of his family and how important they were to him. We will always remember Steve, and our hearts go out his loved ones at this time.
