Steve Housty Obituary

STEVE HOUSTY LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ
Steve Housty, of Lake Havasu City, AZ (formerly of Hammond and Dyer, IN) left this world on March 25, 2017 to go onto a better place. He was born in Hammond, IN on July 23, 1949. He was 67 years of age. Steve graduated from Hammond Technical Vocational High School in 1967. He worked at LTV Steel, LaSalle Steel, and Cargill, all located in Hammond, Indiana. Steve loved to scuba dive in his younger days and travel. He was a cancer survivor for over sixteen years. Steve and his wife Melanie moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 2010, where Melanie will remain. Even after death, Steve is still a giving person, as he was an organ donor, giving eyes, skin, bone, and cartilage, so others can benefit. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Adelgunde Housty. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Melanie Housty, of Lake Havasu City, AZ; brother, John (Shannon) Housty, of Crown Point, IN; sisters, Mary (Dale) Ericson and Heidi (Frank) Allegato, both of Lakeland, FL, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends, and their beloved cats, Spot and Jazmin. In lieu of flowers, Steve and his family ask that any donations be made to either Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86405 or to Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior Avenue, Munster, IN 46321. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Steve, I finally went to the cemetery and got our final resting place. I debated for a long time about it, but then decided Havasu was the place we decided together to live, so that´s where we shall be forever. You´ll notice the eagle for you and the hummingbird for me, and the paw prints for Spot and Jazmin. Hadn´t realized it until I got home that we´ll be next to a woman I had known from the Art Guild. We´ll be together forever and always. Until then, I Love You!!

My darling Steve, 47 years ago we said "I Do", and then again 7 years ago we renewed those vows. My only regret was that I waited over a year before finally agreeing to go out with you, I´m just glad you were persistent. I miss you so much. I´m happy to have my travel friends and my two furry friends to keep me company. Until we meet again, I´ll love you for all eternity! Love, Melanie

My Dearest Steve, the 3 year anniversary of your passing is almost here. I miss you so much. I would give anything to have you back again, if even for just one day, to hold you again. I never thought this would be so hard, to live without the one I love. I try to be strong, but its not always easy. Ill love you forever!!

Happy Easter Dear!! This will be the last time I write you on here as the year is expiring soon. I'm not going to keep it going as it's only Pam & I who go on here, but believe me, it no way means I will ever stop thinking of you. I'm going to lunch with Mary & Wayne, then maybe to their house for a little bit, but I'd really rather just be home with my girls. Just remember, I Love You Today, Tomorrow and Always!!! Your Loving Wife........

My Darling Steve, I don't understand why you left me so soon. It's been a few days since the one year anniversary of you leaving and tomorrow is Easter. I sit here crying as I think of you. My only hope is that I'll see you again some day, and I hope that day is sooner than later. It is so hard being without you. I'm just glad I have Fiona and Cookie. Sometimes I think you are reincarnated in Fiona as she always wants to be loved on, and I know if you were coming back as a cat that it would be a female as you know it would be a female that I would adopt. I love and miss you!! Until we meet again........

Steve, today marks 5 months since you left me. But you're only gone in person, you're always in my heart and mind. I've tried to stay busy today making earrings for when sales start in November, but this evening, you're all that's on my mind!! You may have noticed that I have a new friend here in Havasu. Her name is Barbara! She's really nice. Her husband, Alan, passed away the day before you, so we have so much in common. She's going to go on the Mystery Tour next March with me. I reminded her it falls on the 1 year anniversary of both your & her husband's deaths. I think it will be good for both of us to be there, and have one another to lean on, since this is all so fresh to both of us! I Love You Today, Tomorrow and Always!! Until we meet again, You're Always In My Heart!!!! Love, Melanie

My Dear Steve, it's been almost 5 months now and so much has happened. I was really hoping you wouldn't let JR come up there with you, but since he's there, I hope you're taking good care of each other! I don't think you ever met our neighbor Sally and her dog Rosie. I still walk with them every morning, though it seems harder and harder to get myself going. I just want to stay in bed all day! Her husband joined you this past week. That's 3 in our block in less than 15 months. I have a new friend from the Hospice Group, but I guess you know that! I miss you so much! I can't understand why you had to go. It really breaks my heart!!! I Love YOU Today, Tomorrow and Forever!!!! Love Always, Melanie

Melanie, Steve was my next door neighbor in Hammond and we were the best of friends until I left the country at 22. Stevie was a great guy and we really had some good times back in the 70's. Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. He will be missed.

My Dearest Steve, Today was my first Holiday without you here by my side. I decided to spend it alone, if I couldn't be with you, I didn't want to be with anyone. After my walk this morning, I took a 4 hour nap. Worked on cleaning, then decided to take a shower, it being faster than a bath. All that did was remind me of how I helped you that day, before taking you to the hospital. All I could think of was your last day at the house, so I cried. I miss you so!!! So, so, much!! I love you, today, tomorrow and always!!! xoxo

Dear Melanie - My sincere sympathy is extended to you and your family upon the loss of your Beloved Steve. His family lived on the block just East of us growing up in Hammond in our younger days. My Brother, Terry Frisk, was friends with Steve and they paled around together. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He is amongst the Angels now up in Heaven with Our Lord and his folks.
