Dear Geisen family, I pray you find comfort in knowing that your beloved Steve now lives with his Lord. I was blessed to know him through O.E. and Special Olympics. I never saw him without getting a big hug and smile from him, and that's what made him special--he loved unconditionally, and I am thankful I could call him "friend. God's blessings. Fondly, Lorrie

My condolences to the entire Geisen Family on the loss of Uncle Steve. From what Nancy has told me, he was a pretty great guy.

May God comfort you all during this difficult time.

A tribute to Steve would not be complete without a tribute to his family. He was fortunate to be born to parents who loved & cared for him & when they passed, that love & caring continued from his brother Bob, his sister-in-law Marilyn & their children. When it was necessary after Bob's passing to move into a group home, the love & caring (especially during that transitional time) never stopped. Steve was Steve because of his familythe way every special needs child should be raised.

To Steves family and friends I am so sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to know him as a client and friend through Opportunity Enterprises (2004-2010). He loved to talk about his family. He loved life and was so happy. I loved every moment with him and since leaving OE I have thought of him and his roommates often. He inspired me to have a career in special education and I owe so much to him.

Steve was born special, with a special purpose from God. All he had to do was be himself. He always loved to laugh, show compassion for people and never hated, he had thousands of friends. He taught me a lot about life and the way you treat people, even if they are born different. Steve fulfilled his special purpose and way beyond. Thank you Steve. And as Steve would say "I not Pokey"

Steve and I were buddies for VHC field trips back when I was at CPHS. He was a lot of fun and Ive never forgotten those field trips. Whenever I ran into Steve over the decades since then, he greeted me warmly and we would chat about all kinds of things. Steve always brightened my day! Everyone who was lucky enough to know Steve will forever cherish the memory of his kind heart and joyful spirit.
