Susan McCann Obituary
May 12, 1955 - June 28, 2023
CROWNPOINT, IN - Susan Marie McCann, age 68, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
Susan is survived by her siblings: Robert (Shanan) McCann, James (Patricia) McCann, Fred McCann and Roxanne (Steve Wiegel) Andrews; nieces and nephews: Shannon, Jennifer, Leslie, Sarah, Mary, Amber, Christina, Robby, Jake, Jaxon, and Emmanuel; numerous great nieces and nephews; God-children: Megan Kirk and Katherine Kennedy Wooke; and best friend, Linda Kennedy.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Joanne McCann; and brothers: Ron and Don McCann.
After graduating from Merrillville High School, Susan began working at Prudential Insurance. In 1976, she joined the U.S. Air Force. Susan was very proud of her service and loved to share her experiences from her time stationed in the Azores. After her honorable discharge, Susan returned to Prudential. In 1987 Susan earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Indiana University. She was an avid animal lover and most proud of her kitties: Groucho, Binky and Docky. Susan had a heart of gold. She never met a stranger and would lend the shirt off her back to anyone in need without expecting anything in return. Susan was loved by many and will truly be missed.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at GEISEN FUNERAL, CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Deacon Zachary Glick officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Susan's name to the M.S. Society or the Independent Cat Society, www.catsociety.org.
