Theodore Osmulski Obituary

Theodore G. Osmulski Hammond Theodore G. Osmulski age 85, passed away on May 7, 2006 at the Towne Centre in Merrillville. He was a lifelong resident of Hammond, IN. Survived by his son, Timothy (Barbara) Osmulski of Pickerton, OH; grandson, William Osmulski of Eau Claire, WI, granddaughters: Christine Osmulski of North Adams, MA and Catherine Osmulski of Milwaukee, WI; sisters: Ann (late Walter) Siwy of Merrillville, Jean of Chicago, Marge (late Robert) Ostrander of Lansing and Josephine (Stephen) Pastor of Hammond; brothers: Alex (Marie) Kalemba of Calumet City and Leo (Dolly) Kalemba of FL; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Late Mike) Wadzita of Vancouver, WA; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Also survived by special nieces and caregivers: Anita (Raymond) Kozlowski of Hammond, Delores Siwy of Calumet City, and nephew and constant companion to the end, Donald (Geri) Smulski of Crown Point. Special "Hungarian" cousin Mary Jane Brumley of Hebron and niece, Mary Kay Dyson (William) of Highland. He was preceded in death by wife, Julie; and son, Theodore Jr.; brothers: Casmir, Edward, Walter and Chris; sister, Lottie Koselke. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Virgil Huber Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Hammond, with Rev. Charles Mosley, celebrating. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, May 12, 2006 from 2:00-9:00 P.M. at Virgil Huber Funeral Home, 7051 Kennedy Ave., Hammond, IN 46323. There will be a prayer service at 3:00p.m. Friday afternoon. The American Legion Post #369 will hold a service at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Ted was a very proud veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corp. in England, North Africa, Sicily, Corsica and Italy. Life member of American Legion Allied Post 369 of East Chicago, IN. He was very active with Post 369, The American Legion 1st District and Department of Indiana. Served on many American Legion committees, Post 369 Americanism Chairmen, first chairman of the 1st District Nursing Home Visitation Program for many years volunteering many hours as well as a VA Volunteer at Hines Hospital. Longtime supporter and sponsor of the Sons of The American Legion Program. Longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish and member of the member of the Holy Name Society. Retired from the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad and was a 40-year member of the International Association of Machinists, Lodge 327. Local Union Chairman and officer of the I.A.M. for many years. Very active member of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railroad Employees, Unit 129. Special thanks to all who were with Ted at the end, who chauffeured him to the store and his doctors appointments and who brought him many home cooked meals. Especially his sister, Josephine and brother, Alex and his wife Marie. His nieces, Anita Kozlowski and Delores Siwy and nephew Don and wife Geri Smulski, and wonderful friends and neighbors Claudia Ramirez and her family and Rose Adams. Words cannot express enough gratitude for all that was done for Ted.

Awhile back I met Ted at the doctor's office.He remembered me from when I was a clerk at Walgreens

and he would purchase items for the

veteran's at hospitals.I also worked and retired from the I.H.B.RR and he remembered that too.He was a kind and generous man and he will be missed by many.I hope and pray the vets. will find someone to replace him with his visits to the veteran's hospitals.

Something had me (born on Good Friday) check the NW Indiana Times Online tonight, 5/10.



Ted was my "Confirmation Godfather" at St Margaret Mary Church years ago, a nice man to know and friend of my parents*.
