Timothy O'Connor Obituary

Dr. Timothy J. O'Connor Dyer, IN Dr. Timothy J. O'Connor, age 51, of Dyer passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Dianne (nee Warnock); son, Timothy Edward O'Connor at home; father, Edward O'Connor of Clearwater, FL; brothers: Pete (Deb) O'Connor of Marshall, VA, James (Jill) O'Connor of Coronato, CA, John (Nicole) O'Connor of Maryland; sisters: Mary (Michael) Gregg of Pawleys Island, SC and Anne O'Connor of Clearwater, FL; mother-in-law, Lucille Warnock of Lynwood, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law: Dorothy (Adrian) Jones of Lynwood, IL, David (Kathleen) Warnock of Dyer, Deborah Warnock of Sauk Village, IL, Denise (Ken) Von Ogden of Calumet Twp, Darlene (Peter) Welling of Indianapolis, Daniel (Georgette) Warnock of Calumet Twp., Donna (Dan) Perrott of Indianapolis, Darren and Darria Warnock, both of Lynwood; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion O'Connor. Dr. O'Connor received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Science from Western Illinois University. He was awarded a Masters in Nutrition from Illinois State University. In 1989, he received a medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. O'Connor completed residencies in both Family Practice and Osteopathic Medicine through Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Later he attended UCLA Medical School completing the course Medical Acupuncture. He was Board Certified in Family Practice and had just recently passed board exam in Medical Acupuncture. Dr. O'Connor was a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Medical Acupuncture and the Cranial Academy. Dr. O'Connor original research with Dr. Benardot on the influence of dietary fiber consumption on the absorption of vitamin A and iron was published in the Journal of the American Dietetics Association. Tim was a Clinical Assistant Professor at Midwestern University, Downers Grove, Illinois and taught Osteopathic Manipulation. At the time of his passing, Dr. O'Connor was working as an Occupational Health physician for the Sister of Saint Francis/St. Margaret Mercy Hospital, Hammond, Indiana. Prayer services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2006, 9:00 AM at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave. (Indianapolis Blvd.) St. John, IN with a funeral Mass at St. John Catholic Church in Glenwood, IL 10:00 AM, Father Jack Sullivan officiating. Internment immediately following, Chapel Lawn, Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Visitation at the funeral home on Friday, May 26, 2006, 2:00-9:00 PM.

I would like to extend my prayers for comfort to your family. Dr. O'Connor was an amazing instructor. He often demonstrated his mastery of OMM inspiring students to practice the techniques in spite of our schedules. I know he will be missed by my class.

SO SORRY TO HEAR OF THE LOSS OF YOUR HUSBAND AND FATHER. DR. O'CONNOR WORKED MANY HOURS AT OUR FACILITY IN LAPORTE AND WE THOUGHT A GREAT DEAL OF HIM. HE WILL BE MISSED. THINKING OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AT THIS VERY SAD TIME.
