Violet L. Regan Whiting Violet L. Regan, age 94, of Whiting. Loving wife of the late John Regan. Cherished mother of Jane (late Tommie) Davenport of Whiting and Kathryn (Arthur) Fortener of Hatford, KY. Beloved sister of Alyce (Roy) Super of Gold Canyon, AZ, Dick (Marilyn) Acker of Eureka, IL, late Robert Acker, late Lois Stubbins. Fond sister-in-law of late Betty Acker and late Tom Stubbins. Dearest grandmother of Jeff Davenport of Gieff, IL, Garett (Jody) Davenport of Andrews, IN, and Christopher (Nicole) Davenport of Whiting and Tim O'Keefe of Chicago. Great-grandmother of Jonathon, Jason and Justin Davenport of St. Louis, MO, Austin, Lauren and Liesl Davenport of Andrews, IN, Tommy and Nicholas Davenport of Whiting. Mrs. Regan was preceded in death by her parents: Allie and Fred Acker. Funeral services will be held on Friday, 10:00 a.m. at the Owens Funeral Home, with Rev. James Facklam officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home (Calumet Ave. and 119th St.), Whiting, on Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Violet was a life long resident of the Calumet area. She was a graduate of Washington High School in 1928 and moved to Whiting in 1933 where she lived until her death. She was a lifetime member of the Whiting Emblem Club who will have services at 4:00 p.m. Thursday. She was also a past worthy matron of the Griffith Chapter of the Eastern Star who will have services at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Violet never tired of volunteering her time when it was needed. She was an avid whiting High School sports fan. She will be missed by all that knew her. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
