WALTER G. GROSAM CEDAR LAKE, IN

Walter G. Grosam, age 90, of Cedar Lake passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marianne; children: Darlene (Craig) Taylor and Karen (Tim) Fortner-Einspahr; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and many life long friends. Preceded in death by his parents; 11 brothers and sisters; and son, Glenn Grosam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:00 am at Holy Name Catholic Church with Fr. Ed Tlucek, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Burdan Funeral Home 12901 Wicker Ave (corner of Rt 41 & 129th Ave) Cedar Lake. Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany. He was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion Post 261, Local 41, and Local 150. He was self employed as a general contractor and his life was his family and his work. Walter loved his tractors and his dump trucks. He also loved to travel and dine out.
