WANDA SUE MAPLES VALPARAISO, IN
Wanda Sue Maples, age 72 of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 9, 2014. She was born January 9, 1942 in Lake City, TN, the daughter of Wesley and Naomi (Byrd) Foust. Sue was a child of God and had a strong faith. On February 26, 1960 in Tennessee, she married the love of her life Robert L. Maples, who survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving is her son, Jeff (Diane) Maples of Valparaiso; her daughter, Tara (Dave) Shreve of Kenosha, WI; five grandchildren: Max Maples and Abby, Livy, Audrey and Drew Shreve; three brothers: Gerald Foust of Hiram, GA, Rick Foust and Mike Foust both of Lake City, TN; and two sisters: Shirley Johnson of Garland, TX and Sharon Neal of Cookeville, TN. She was preceded in death by her son, Todd "Tony" Maples; her parents; and a brother, Terry Foust. Sue was a loving wife, mother, Grammy, sister and friend who loved traveling, camping, the beach, and nature. Family was the center of her life. She spent her life loving and supporting her husband, children, and grandchildren. Sue was married for 54 years to "Buddy" which is what they called each other. Their love story is an inspiration to all who know them. She will forever be loved and missed by many. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso. Funeral services will be held Monday at Bartholomew Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Don Good officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Valparaiso. bartholomewnewhard.com
