ZORAN STEFANOVIC

Zoran Stefanovic CROWN POINT, IN - Zoran Stefanovic, age 78 of Crown Point, passed away suddenly June 9, 2018. He was born in Aleksinac, Serbia and came to the United States on February 19, 1970 with his wife and children to Gary, Indiana. They later moved and settled in Crown Point, IN. Zoran was a former member of St George Serbian Orthodox Church in East Chicago. He then became an active member of St Sava Serbian Orthodox church in 1978, where he was currently a member. Zoran was a long time employee of US Steel in Gary, and a retired employee of the Merrillville Community School Corporation after many years of dedicated service. Zoran is preceded in death by his parents Branislav and Miroslava Stefanovic. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Ljiljana Stefanovic; two beloved children, son, Ljubisha "Lou" (Helen) Stefanovic, and daughter, Biljana "Billie" (Igor) Vrbica; three cherished grandchildren: Dejan, Sasha and Petar; two sisters in Serbia, Ljupce Stefanovic and his twin Zorica Milojevic, and their families; and many other relatives, Kumovi and dear friends both here and in Serbia. Zoran loved gardening and had a passion for carpentry. He was a genuine man who touched many souls in his lifetime with his kindness. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the CALUMET PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 7535 Taft St, Merrillville from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. with a Pomen Service at 7:00p.m. V. Rev Marko Matic officiating. Funeral Services will be held Thursday directly at 10:00a.m. at St Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 9191 Mississippi St, Merrillville.
