ABRAHAM HAZELCORN Obituary
died peacefully at home in Delray Beach, FL, on July 27, 2017. He was 90 years old. Abe was a devoted husband to Rita Klitzberg, his high school sweetheart for sixty-seven years. His three daughters, Fay Stanford (Ron), Heidi (Maurice Thorne), and Judith Light (Stuart) produced six children and eight great-grandsons. His family was the love of his life. Abe was a street athlete and later a swimmer for Thomas Jefferson High School. He joined the Navy at age 17 and then attended Brooklyn College. Abe spent two years studying in Switzerland where he earned two masters degrees--one in mathematics and one in Germanic languages. Mr. Hazelcorn entered the life insurance industry by working for the Veterans Administration insurance division. He studied for twelve years to become a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and ended his career as president of American Mayflower Life. Abe loved music but couldn't sing a note. He enjoyed travel, movies, bridge and reading obituaries.
