Arnold Levy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John G Crawford Memorial Services, LLC on Mar. 15, 2026.
Arnold Rafkind Levy, 93, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. Born in the Bronx in 1933, Arnie grew up in Brooklyn, NY, surrounded by many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Arnie went to Brooklyn College and then graduated from Harvard Law School in 1957 after taking a year off to attempt to write the Great American Novel, Rafkind Rabbit. He had three children with his wife, Carole, and practiced corporate and securities law in NYC as a partner in the law firms Wagner McNiff DiMaio & Levy and Epstein Becker & Green. He also held executive positions with corporations in the securities, film, and oil industries.

In 1987, Arnie married Muriel and retired shortly after. They moved to Palm Coast, FL, where he became an active volunteer, as a director and president of the Flagler County Auditorium Governing Board and the Flagler County Education Foundation and as a trustee of the Flagler County Library.

A man of many interests, Arnie enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, politics, telling jokes, and watching sports and old movies. He discussed his many interests over weekly lunches with his aptly named Polymath Group, like-minded friends in Palm Coast. He never met a hot dog or coffee ice cream he didn't like.

Though his brilliant mind was his most obvious character trait, Arnie's greatest ability was his capacity for love and his ongoing effort to improve himself until the day he died.

Mr. Levy is survived by his children, Chaim Zalman Levy, Kathy Pecht (Michael), Susie Levy (Al), Matt Silbert (Kat), Stephen Silbert (Jennifer), Tony Silbert (Leah), and his ex-wife, Carole. He leaves behind cherished grandchildren Sandy Pecht, Stella Silbert, Julian Pecht, Oliver Racciatti, Bram Silbert, and Maddie Racciatti. He is pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Muriel; sister, Adie; and parents, Jack and Belle Levy.
