ABRAHAM KAUFMAN

KAUFMAN--Abraham. (Abe) Kaufman died on November 1, 2025, at the age of 98. Born in Antwerp to parents Aron and Lana, Abe and his family left Belgium in 1939, settling in 1943 on Manhattan's Upper West Side, where Abe lived the rest of his life. A reserved gentleman with a strong sense of humor, Abe's passions included classical music and the visual arts -- he was both an accomplished violinist and draftsman -- marathon length walks, and the family business with his beloved brothers, the late Jacob and Isaac Kaufman. Home every evening by 7:00 for lively family dinners, Abe cared most deeply for his wife Clarita and their three sons. Abe is survived by his wife, sons Joseph (Emily Goodman), Aron (Nancy), and Jack, and his three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Art Students League of New York.
