My heart hurts for the passing of this dear, wonderful, kind man. Joan,Jane and Leslie,guys, grands we are so grateful for the time we had with Alan. There is no counting the ways in which Alan made David's and my life better. His kindness his words, his caring, his bothering to help never flagged. I am heartbroken to hear of his passing and to have missed his services though I had to speak at our nephews memorial that very day. Thank you for Alan in our life and our lovely times with all of you! I will always remember you all. rusty and david hannon

Alan Mirken was important to me in my early years in publishing at Crown Publishers. A great leader and a very nice man, he always asked how I was, what I was working on, even though I was just an assistant. My condolences to Jane and the entire Mirken family.

Alan Mirken and Crown Publishers were an important part of my early working life. Alan was a good man, a smart man and a generous man. He will be missed by many. Very sorry to hear of his passing. I'm glad I had the opportunity to know him.
