ALAN WALKER Obituary

WALKER--Alan, formally a longtime resident of Pound Ridge, peacefully passed away on February 17, 2024, at the age of 96. He was born in the Bronx, New York, to William and Jeanette Walker. A proud member of the Navy Tin Can Sailors, he served admirably in World War II on the USS Ozbourn. After receiving degrees from Drake and New York University, he joined the family business, expanding it with his expertise in gems and minerals until his retirement at 92. The legacy of Jewel Corner continues with his daughter Allison. He was the patriarch of his family and his most cherished moments were spent with them. You could find him attending his daughters and son-in-laws softball games, as well as all his grandchildren's sporting events and theater productions. He had an unconditional love for the Mets, Knicks, Giants and Mallomars, not necessarily in that order. He is survived by his daughters Leslie (Thomas) Hunt, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Klotz, Allison (Warren) McReddie and his adoring grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Alan was predeceased by his brother and his son, Dr. Stanley Walker. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Alan's memory to the American Cancer Society, the Veterans Administration, or the Rescue Right of Bedford, New York.
