1944 - 2022
Renowned psychic medium, Alexander Murray, 78, has transitioned. Alex was extraordinarily gifted. After a profound, transcendent experience, he shifted from his career as a professional cellist to a forty year life of service as a channel. He was highly regarded both in New York and internationally. His weekly groups enriched and inspired all those he read, and his clients became life long friends. He will be missed but lives on in the hearts of all those fortunate to have known and loved him.

Back in the mid to late 1980s, Alex taught quite a few who went on to become professional mediums, psychics, healers and teachers. I was fortunate to participate in a couple of his classes with such students: psychic development in 1986 and channeling in 1988. He engaged his students and made the learning process fun. He also encouraged us to recognize and bring forth our gifts. He never put himself on a pedestal; he always openly shared his knowledge and toolset. It was Alex who opened the door to psychometry for me, showing me how to focus on the vibration of the object I was holding. On another note, he had an amazing apartment - spacious and with lots of sunlight on the top (18th) floor, and he kept it neat, clean and tastefully appointed - even with his beautiful cats running about.

Only saw this announcement of his transitioning moments ago as I did an internet search for current contact information as I had not had a session with him in a very long time. I attended many of his classes/workshops in the 1980's as well as having had numerous private consultations with him during that decade when I lived on the upper westside. He was a great teacher and such a pure channel. He is missed on this plane!

Alex was my first my first magic carpet ride into the world of Spirit.z Always cheerful with that twinkle in his eyes, sitting in his living room in 1986 was like waiting for Christmas Eve to arrive. Brightstar was a beautiful tour guide whose arrival on those nights signaled a lineup that rivaled whatever Ed Sullivan could put together. I still have a cassette tape from one of his gatherings where you can plainly hear a celestial bird between visits..

Alex was one of the most extraordinary people I´ve ever met. He gave the most amazing readings and was a true inspiration. I loved going to his channeling sessions. I happened to take my crystal ball out recently and thought of him, I had gotten when he was having a yard sale. Was looking him up after to try to get in contact with him and much to my surprise he has moved on. I loved that man and blessed to have learned from him. I hope to live his legacy for the rest of my time on earth. He was a special human being

Alex was and hopefully will continue in the afterlife to be my teacher and my friend. I was lucky enough to be allowed into his home and when he had to be stern he would say it was because he looked at me like as a daughter figure. The day I received the news about Alex a piece that he had given to me. A piece enclosed in glass, fell over. I took that as a sign that he was paying me a visit. Alex I will wear the pearls proudly for you and I know that you are wearing all of yours in Heaven. Thank you for being apart of my life.

My teacher. Thank you for bringing me to my highest self over and over again. Your magick is eternal and I and my family are blessed to have witnessed your gifts and most of all the gift of who you are as a SOUL.
