Beloved husband of the late Barbara and Leila, devoted father of Jon Achenbaum, Lisa Kounitz and Martha Bratt and cherished father-in-law of Barb Achenbaum and Mark Bratt. Adoring grandfather of Julie, Amy and Anne Achenbaum, Benjamin and Jake Kounitz, Alex and Torie Bratt. Dear companion of Shirley Lindenbaum. Service Sunday, January 31, 9:45am at "The Riverside," 76 St. and Amsterdam Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alvin A. Achenbaum Fellowship at the Hartman Center at Duke University.
