After many years today I was informed that Dr Freiman passed away. I am so sorry and sad. I met Dr. Freiman at MSKCC during my staying in NYC as a research Fellow under the direction of Dr Larson in Nuclear Medicine and I had the chance to work and to learn a lot from him, that was open to share his time and knowledge with me. I also had the opportunity to invite Dr Freiman to my University in Naples (Italy) where he gave a lecture and I will always remember his talk and how impressed were all the young students that attended that meeting.
I will never forget the elegance and style of this old fashion cardiologist. Thank you, Dr Freiman.

Dear Mrs. Freiman,
You have my deepest sympathy. Working with you and Dr. Freiman during his stay at MSKCC was such a positive experience. He was a great physician and a wonderful person to work with. Whenever I had to contact you about a patient, you always made sure that Dr. Freiman got back to me as soon as possible. It was a wonderful expereince working with such an outstanding team. The two of you were A+ together, going above and beyond the call of duty. He will be missed.

Mrs. Freiman,
I can't imagine how Dr. Freiman's passing has affected you. I know that he was the love of your life and it will be hard to carry on without him. It must have been a pleasure to work side by side with your husband for all of those years. I know that Al resisted retiring for a long time, but once he did, he really embraced his new role as Grandfather.
I appreciate Dr. Freiman's keen medical judgement and his help back in 2001. He was a pillar in the medical community and a dedicated husband. I look forward to seeing you again in CA. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Dearest Nadine and family: What shall I choose?
--His influence on me and my medical practice as mentor? .
--The fact that he was the only "personal physician" that this physician had in New York?
--Or more likely that each and every phone conversation ended with the telling (and re-telling) of a joke --often cogent, usually corny -- but proof of what constitures "The Best Medicine". I shall sorely miss that.
