Dear Friends,
Al has always been a delight - smart, knowledgeable, warm, helpful, and guiding, a participant on my most recent grant efforts. We lunched two weeks ago when he pulled out some lecture notes to demonstrate why my last ideas would be successful. He was always gracious and supportive and funny - Al knew everyone and to the end remembered every last detail.
I will sorely miss him personally and professionally.

I wish to extend my sincere condolences. I, too, will miss his tireless optimism. It is with gratitude that I feel gifted by the moments we shared together. May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

To the Family of Al Salkind. I am so very sorry for your loss and want to extend my deepest sympathy to you all. I had the distinct pleasure of knowing Al early in my career and I am a better person because of him. I will miss him dearly and will never forget him.

Dear Salkind Family,
I am so extremely sorry for your loss. Dr. Salkind was a close colleague of my late husband, Dr. Patrick Grimes. They collaborated on many projects at Rutgers & Exxon. Pat had great respect and fondness for him. I remember him, also. He was always upbeat.
