Ann was a remarkable woman and it was an honor to know her. We met at Hortulus and shared a love of conservation. She was a mentor to me in the pursuit of saving our precious ecosystems and I will always treasure our friendship. Ann was an inspiration to all of us and an important voice for nature on our planet.

Ann and I had the enjoyable, if daunting, task to organize an afternoon craft session using natural materials for a group of girl scouts at the Greenwich Garden Center, now the Greenwich Botanical Center. We had barely more than an hour to complete the project before the Town put up the chain that closed the Pinetum for the night. Yikes! We did it! It was great fun and we were quite pleased with ourselves so we decided to make a bunch of them as Christmas presents for our friends and family. Ann was a delight to work with and her lovely manner made our efforts joyful.

We are so very sorry to learn of Ann's passing. She was a good friend of my mother's, Toni Wyman, and they worked together for many years in the volunteer world, particularly the YWCA. We will always remember her as a gracious, lovely and charming woman, whom we were privileged to call a friend.
