We were very sad to hear of the passing of Ann. Our memories of her are vivid as she helped make us welcome to the U.S. in the early 1970's. She would come to Ann Arbor and "take charge" from re-arranging Helene's kitchen to taking all the children (including mine) to the Georgetown Pool. She was the one who told me to read "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" and "The Color Purple", told me about the struggles for equality in the south, advised me that "women can accomplish anything they want to". She loved her grand children with a passion and gave encouragement to everyone who touched her path. We are so sorry we will be unable to attend her funeral and truly hope it will be a celebration of her life. Regards Pat and Tony Fox
