The American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry mourns the loss of our esteemed Past President (2003-2004), who passed November 14, 2015, at the age of 87. I remember Ann R Turkel with the greatest respect, admiration, and fondness. I feel fortunate to have met her-- a woman of such professional ability and intelligence. I ran into her once in Central Park as she was walking her dog. I hadn't seen her in twenty years and yet she remembered me, remembered my family members and asked how they were doing. I was surprised and impressed. I was sad to learn this amazing woman had died...but then, the years do pass. My sincere condolences to her family and colleagues alike.
