Anthony Mercorella Obituary
MERCORELLA-Anthony J.
Age 94, passed away on February 3rd, 2022, in Naples, Florida. He was born on March 6th, 1927 in the Bronx to Sante and Josephine Mercorella. Tony graduated from Long Island University/NY and Fordham University School of Law. He began his legal profession as an attorney in New York City and served as both a New York State Assemblyman and New York City Councilman from the Bronx. Subsequently, he was elected Civil Court Judge and then appointed a New York State Supreme Court Justice. He completed his career as partner at the law firm of Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker. Tony was a member of the Columbian Lawyers Association, the New York County Lawyers Association, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He became a sought-after arbitrator due to his sense of fairness, empathy, and efficiency. All parties trusted in his legal acumen and settlement abilities. Tony also enjoyed assisting and mentoring young attorneys and providing life and career counseling. He was quick witted and affable, and his presence lit up every room he entered.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Maria Mercorella, son Robert Mercorella (Jill) and daughters Anne Mercorella Flynn (Mark), Susan Mercorella Creavin (Damien) and Carole Crinieri (Michael) and ten grandchildren, Matthew (Becca), Nicola (Ben), William, Anthony, Timothy, Isabelle, Julia (Sam), Hannah, Andrew, and Marco. Donations can be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital and the Salvation Army in memory of Anthony Mercorella.

I stumbled upon this unfortunate news by accident. I was fortunate enough to meet Tony as a teenager and got to know him as a loving father and husband who was a man apart. High morals and values and helpful to all. He will be surely missed by his loving family and all who knew him

Sending our deepest condolences to all of you. We have such sweet memories of times we spent with Tony. Such a smart, lovely man with a warm and beautiful smile for everyone. We´ll remember him fondly.
