Dear Arlene was my family's neighbor in Baltimore, Maryland in the 1950s. But we lost touch with her when she moved away. When my family moved to Yonkers, NY in 1963, lo and behold, Arlene turned out to live up the street from us! She was always one of our favorite people. What a presence! So brightly she shone! I had the pleasure of being summer camp counselor for her sons, Gary and Rick. Two years ago she sent me a Facebook message to "give her (my 94 year old mother) a kiss from an old friend...Arlene Beberman." Rest in peace, dear lady.
