ARTHUR COWEN Obituary

COWEN--Arthur (Tony) III. Arthur Cowen III, beloved son of Arthur Cowen Jr. and Halle Schlesinger Bach, passed away peacefully at age 88. He is survived by his loving wife, Edna Cowen, his children Jeff and Jane Hamilton Cowen, and his stepsons Steve and Mark Wallace, his sisters Prue Bach Mortimer and Lorie Cowen Levy, his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his adored sister, Halle (Jill) Sancha Cowen. He attended The Allen-Steven- son School, The Choate School, and graduated from Haverford College. He was a Partner and a Managing Director of Cowen & Co., the firm founded by his grandfather, Arthur Cowen Sr., and his two great-uncles. The firm was sold in 1999 and Tony became a Financial Advisor at Lehman Brothers, Oppenheimer & Co., and Brill Securities. He was a very accomplished amateur tennis player and adored watching Wimbledon 2023. He belonged to The Beach Club in Palm Beach, The Union Club, Doubles, and had been a member of Century Country Club, South Fork Country Club, and The Amagansett Beach Assoc. The sweetest man, Tony will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
