It´s never too late to say goodbye to a boss, a mentor and a friend. Arthur was my 1st Boss in 1977 at the Logan Airport Hilton. He was a gentle giant who received much respect from the entire staff. I was a sales rep at the time and Arthur never ever was too good to roll up his sleeves and get his hands dirty. We experienced the big blizzard and all were
Basically trapped in the Hotel with a full house and short staffed. I went into the main kitchen and started slicing tomatoes to simply assist and who came in and started doing the same, Arthur Surin. That´s one of many examples. Rest in peace Mr Surin and God Bless!

I´m so sorry to have just learned of the passing of Art Surin. I knew Art since 1980 having hired me as a Catering Manager at the Fontainebleau Hilton. "Mr. Surin" as he was known in those days was always a fair man to me and driven by a passion for excellence and a keen eye for detail that I learned from him. He could spot ten things wrong walking into a ballroom in a matter of moments and he´d let you know about it!!
He loved life and his family, worked hard and played hard. Thanks for the memories Art, and God bless you and your family.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Artie's passing. We met in 5th grade at Fox Meadow School, and graduated SHS together in 1959. I've been fond if him ever since. When he left school early on Wednesdays to attend CCD classes at IHM, he would flash me his wonderful smile, his blue eyes twinkling, and then stick his tongue out at me. I loved seeing him at reunions. When one is larger than life as Art was, it's so hard to think of them as having passed. Warm greetings and condolences to Teresa, who I met at the next to last reunion, to Dan and all of Art's family.

Someone who loved our industry and brought the best out of you. Whether in a meeting or customer event, Arthur Surin owned the room. He was truly the largest personality wherever he went. He ran hotels but he made customer relationships his number one priority. Without the customer a hotel was just a building. A legend who impacted everyone he touched. Our thoughts are with his family.
