Barbara was a bright light in all our lives...always with a smile and a happy disposition. She was a conscientious and dedicated President of the National Organization of Italian Women who brought her talents to NOIAW with Art Shows, her kindness, and her love and interest in people. She leaves many dear friends who will miss her.

I have known Barbara for almost a lifetime, and I cherish fond memories of our time together. My dear, beloved friend and colleague, Barbara, was an extraordinary human being who possessed countless virtues and exemplary qualities. She was kind, loving and supportive to family, friends and colleagues. She was a great mind, a formidable artist, and a model educator who relentlessly worked for the community and the good of humanity. Barbara touched many lives and will always hold a special place in my thoughts and in my heart and in the hearts and minds of all who knew her. Heartfelt condolences to family and friends. Rest in eternal peace, dear Barbara.

A dear friend and mentor, Barbara was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing and spending time with her. A caring empath and creative soul, Barbara had a contagious positive and cheery disposition. Barbara's devotion to her family (whether by blood or association) was remarkable.
Barbara never complained. Her glass (chardonnay preferred) was always half full-even during difficult times.
Barbara, known as "Aunt Barbara" to my children, was fun, creative, supportive and thoughtful.
A great loss....
Pace all'anima sua.

Barbara Gerard was a true professional. A Board member of the Italian Heritage and Culture Committee-NY, Inc., she devoted more than 40 years in attending meetings and participating on committees. Most noteworthy for her artistic talent and flair, she was a consummate consensus builder and will be sorely missed.
