PASSELTINER--Bernie, who was born on November 21, 1931 in Manhattan to Adah and Jules Passeltiner, died peacefully at home on June 8. He served as an Army tank commander on Okinawa during the Korean War, then earned a BA from George Washington University and an MFA from Catholic University, where he studied drama under Fr. During a 58-year career in theatre, film and TV, Bernie appeared on Broadway in Yentl, Cafe Crown, Goodbye Fidel, and The Office; in four international and national tours of West Side Story, Grand Hotel, and Cyrano de Bergerac; 11 productions of Shakespeare; and 130 plays and musicals Off-Broadway, in Canada and across the United States. He assisted Mike Nichols and Jerome Robbins, was applauded by Arthur Miller and kissed by Leonard Bernstein! He played a stellar left field in the Broadway Show League and, with poker buddies, had a 55-year run in The Game. Bernie loved, and was loved by, many. His beloved sister, Roberta Kraus, predeceased him. Bernie is survived by wife Pam, his daughter Eve, seven nieces and five neph- ews.
