BERTRAM KALISHER

1925 - 2022

KALISHER--Bertram, born on September 27, 1925, passed away on November 20, 2022 at 97 years of age. He grew up in Long Beach, New York, and participated in track and field events at the Long Beach High school. He studied Art and Industrial Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York before enlisting in the Cadet program in the Army Air Corps. Bert enjoyed a long career in the international watch and jewelry industry over a span of 70 years. He was a manufacturer and designer of jewelry, as well as an editor of three magazines, publisher of two books and member of several professional organizations. He lived in the village of Hewlett Neck, New York and served as Deputy Mayor, Trustee, and Village Historian. An avid sailor and gardener, he loved to cook, and had an enormous interest in the world around him. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Marcy, their children Richard and Nancy, and six grandchildren: Eric, Andrew, Michael, Sam, Laura, Elizabeth, and his great-granddaughter Emma. Funeral services will be held at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, NY on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 1pm.
