I only knew him a short time, but I found Bert to be a delightful person, with wide interests and zest for life.

Bert was a patient in our dental office. He was a delight. A great sense of humor. We last saw him on Oct 7th 2010...He stated well I don't think I will need another appointment with a kind smile. The hygienist wrote "patient has a beautiful outlook on life". We will miss him and wish his family peace and great memories of a delightful man. Pam/Dr. Linda Showaihat's Office.

I had the honor of being with Bert and Susan on Bert's last trip to the Sierras and also of knowing him my entire life. His gentle humor and good nature will be missed. My heart goes out especially to Shawn, Celia and Kevin.

With much love,

Although it's been over 20 years since seeing Bert, I do remember his way of expressing himself in a way that even a lay person (me) could understand. I enjoyed conversing with him and listening to him discuss ideas and concepts that were foreign to me until arriving at Townsend. I'm sure he will be missed by those closest to him. My warmest thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends.

It was my great pleasure to interact with Bert last few years. I learnt a lot from him and will truly miss his cheerful spirit and keen intellect.
