I was hurt in a boating accident in 1985 and was in the hospital with Bridget in the next room. She had a private nurse and a private room but we became good friends in PT sessions where we bonded with our shared pain and our desire to get recover. When The First Lady came to visit her Bridget asked her to pop in my room and to thank me for helping her with her therapy. I am now 60 and I will never forget the closeness I shared with Bridget in June-July 1985. A wonderful human. Billy Allen, Quincy, Ma.

I met Mrs. Gerney when I worked for husband in 1969. She was very lovely both inside and out. Always smiling, gracious and friendly. Mrs was very down to earth and talked to me as an equal which as a twenty year old office assistant I found wonderful.
My deep sympathy for her family.
