BRUCE MALAMUT Obituary

MALAMUT--Bruce Mason, October 1, 1952 - February 28, 2024. Bruce Mason Malamut was born in Atlantic City, NJ, October 1, 1952, to Lewis Malamut and Arlene Linn Malamut. He lived in Manhattan's Upper East Side. Bruce attended the Collegiate School, Columbia College, and Columbia Business School. Bruce worked for many years in the international tea trade and later imported exotic woods. He then began a teaching career, finishing as a professor of international trade at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Bruce also played brass and drums and wrote music reviews for Crawdaddy and Rolling Stone magazines. Bruce died February 28, 2024. He is survived by siblings Michael (Catherine) Malamut of Dedham, MA; John (Judith) Malamut of Berkeley, CA; and Wendy Blackwell of Santa Fe, NM; and dear friends Francis Voignier and Elisabeth Zenker of Eureka, CA. Family are arranging a memorial service. Contributions in Bruce's memory may be made to the Carter Burden Network for the Aging.
