Bruce was a leading participant on a baseball website called HighHeatStats. Many of us on the site learned of his passing only today, May 1, when Bruce's wife thoughtfully shared the sad news with us. We knew Bruce only by his chosen screen name (birtelcom) and through a shared love of baseball, but in our online community he commanded enormous respect and affection. The ideas he contributed to our group have been central to our discussions for years and will continue to be. We are in mourning. Bruce was invariably supportive in his comments, and recalling his kindness online, where kindness is far from ordinary, I'd like to offer condolences to his family for their loss.

Bruce touched so many lives. I was proud to work with him at the New York City Law Department for so many years and to help work on his memorial tribute. Every time we look at New York City, we will see Bruce's impact. Peace and Blessings, Kate O'Brien Ahlers
